What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEAM LEAD/Mobile Phlebotomist position at CAROLINA MEDICAL LAB?
We're looking for dedicated and professional Mobile Phlebotomists to join our team, covering a specific route in South Carolina, including White Oak Lancaster, Rock Hill, and York. This role requires starting as early as 3:00 AM and completing collections before 8:00 AM to meet fasting requirements. Responsibilities:
- Begin shift as early as 3:00 AM to ensure timely collections at all assigned facilities.
- Travel to White Oak Lancaster, Rock Hill, and York to collect blood samples from residents.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and maintain proper documentation using eLab and collection lists.
- Prepare and process specimens according to established procedures (SST, Ammonia, Glucose, Blood Cultures, etc.).
- Transport specimens to the designated lab or drop-off point, maintaining appropriate temperature controls.
- Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor, providing compassionate care to patients, including those who may be challenging or non-compliant.
- Conduct monthly client inventory checks and place supply orders as needed.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures, including HIPAA regulations and PPE requirements.
- Follow attendance and reporting protocols, including daily check-ins and timely submission of mileage blotters.
Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of phlebotomy procedures and specimen handling.
- Proficiency with eLab and medical documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to adhere to professional attire and grooming standards.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
