Corner Marshal

Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Corner Marshal to join our team. The qualified Corner Marshal, also known as Track Safety Marshals, will be responsible for observing on-track activity and efficiently communicating to drivers and other track marshals. Corner Marshals are a key component in track days and races, providing important information for the safety of drivers and staff. A Corner Marshal is a seasonal (February through November) employee that will be trained in flagging and communication at CMP. Corner Marshals are to communicate with drivers using displayed colored flags and hand signals and communicate with other track marshals using a handheld radio. A Corner Marshal’s primary objective is to provide information to drivers about track conditions. Must be 18 years or older to apply. Responsibilities:

· Understand the meaning behind the colored flags used to notify drivers of track conditions.

· Efficiently provide accurate information through radio calls.

· Understand road racing rules and regulations pertaining to the event on-track; including but not limited to rules for car and motorcycle racing.

· Learn and understand proper use of fire extinguishers.

· Learn and understand the proper safety protocols of flagging.

· Identify and report any safety issues to Race Control.

· Operate a corner station during all on-track activity during your shift.

Skills:

· Must be prompt and reliable.

· Must remain alert and attentive at all times.

· Must have full use of your hands to communicate effectively.

· Must be able to see well and have good peripheral vision.

· Must be able to hear radio communications with or without a headset.

· Must be able to speak English clearly with suitable dictation.

Experience and Requirements:

· High school Diploma or equivalent.

· Must have valid driver’s license.

· Entry level position: CMP will provide training for this position.

· Available to work a variety of hours and shifts, weekends are a must.

· Must be 18 years or older.

Physical Requirements and Environments:

· Regular physical activity, including but not limited standing for extended periods of time, walking/running, kneeling, lifting, pushing and more.

· Environment: Outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat.
