Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates (CNSA) is seeking a Medical Office Floater in our North market. CNSA has been established as a private medical practice for over 75 years and currently has been recognized as one of North Carolina and Charlotte’s Top Workplaces.
This position will be based in Concord and float to our Huntersville location to support our business operations to include physician administrative assistant responsibilities, front desk neuro or physical therapy check-in/check-out, switchboard, medical records, scheduling, verifying benefits, and posting charges.
Qualified candidates will have 1-2 years of medical business office experience and must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and insurance. Prior experience in a busy medical practice is highly favored. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while insuring excellent patient care and remain flexible to shifting assignments based on business needs.
Responsibilities will include the following based on the assignment:
- Checks in and checks out patients; collects payments and verifies and/or updates insurance. Obtains proper insurance documentation and demographic information.
- Processes new patient paperwork and/or updated paperwork.
- Follows established procedures to prepare for upcoming appointments.
- Explains insurance authorization to patients as necessary.
- Posts payments and balance at the end of each day and prepares daily deposits following established procedures.
- Schedules new patient appointments.
- Posts charges.
- Serves as physician’s point of contact for scheduling appointments and procedures.
- Coordinates pre-certification approvals following established procedures.
- Transcribes dictation for assigned physician.
- Manages physician and MLP schedule changes and call changes to insure all parties are notified.
- Answers busy telephones, responds to requests and/or directs to appropriate party.
- Insures all patient interactions and medical records follow the CNSA confidentiality requirements and HIPAA regulations.

Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility based on assignment.
