We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team! We are seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Floater in our Greensboro office. Qualified candidates will have 2 years of medical business office experience in a similar capacity and must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology and insurance. Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while ensuring excellent patient care and remain flexible to shifting assignments based on business needs.
Responsibilities will include the following based on the assignment:
- Checks in patients; collects payments and verifies and/or updates insurance. Obtains proper insurance documentation and demographic information.
- Processes new patient paperwork and/or updated paperwork.
- Follows established procedures to prepare for upcoming appointments.
- Explains insurance authorization to patients as necessary.
- Posts payments and balances at the end of each day and prepares daily deposits following established procedures.
- Schedules new patient appointments.
- Posts charges.
- Communicates with insurance companies to obtain pre-certification authorizations for surgeries, imaging studies, procedures, etc.
- Supports the office by covering switchboard as necessary.
- Serves as physician’s point of contact for scheduling appointments and procedures.
- Coordinates pre-certification approvals following established procedures.
- Proofs transcribed dictation for assigned physician.
- Manages physician schedule changes and call changes to ensure all parties are notified.
- Answers busy telephones, responds to requests and/or directs to appropriate party.
- Provides financial estimates to patients
- Sets up payment plans for patients
- Assists with surgery scheduling
- Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.
- Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals.
- Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.
