What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Brain Tumor Navigator position at Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates?
We are searching for compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team! We are seeking a RN - Brain Tumor Navigator. This position primarily works out of Atrium Main Hospital located in mid-town Charlotte.

Responsibilities:
- Performs patient and physician flow coordination for the Brain tumor program. Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care. Establishes early contact to eliminate barriers to timely treatment and coordinates care through the health care continuum.
- Provides a significant level of patient education related to the patient's therapy and/or the planned treatment.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain and implement timely coordinated patient care; communicates with all members of the healthcare team on behalf of the patient.
- Obtains tests/visit authorizations and collects necessary information for appointments and admissions. Distributes relevant medical data and follows up with clinical indications following medical review.
- Assists patients/families in obtaining referrals/appointments with needed specialists. Assures smooth transition of inpatient/outpatient experiences.
- Coordinates the inpatient/outpatient care of patients being considered for and participating in clinical research trials.
- Participates in the development of evidence based best practices and guidelines.
- Facilitates and coordinates Brain Tumor meetings and conferences.
- Promotes and raises awareness of the Brain Tumor Program in the community.
- Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.

- Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.

A Valid NC RN License is Required
Hours:
Full-time Salaried, Mon-Fri
Hours will vary dependent upon patient needs.
This is not a remote position.
