A full-time Medical Billing Claims Denial Specialist is needed for a large multi-specialty physician practice in Duncan, SC.
Responsibilities:
- The Denial Management Specialist is responsible for denial and AR management for the department as defined by their supervisor/manager.
- Research and resolve all outstanding denials within the work and complete all necessary follow-ups in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify all denial trends and provide education on steps to prevent future avoidable denials.
- Initiate/manage all insurance appeals in a timely manner
- Manage outstanding AR related to denials
- Communicate all denial trends and denial increases to the direct supervisor/manager to positively affect the volume of denials
- Organize the workflow to ensure that denials are worked on according to departmental policy and standards
- Manage correspondences and any requests as defined within department workflow procedure to ensure timelessness and accuracy of response
- Complete special projects as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (required)
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical billing setting with knowledge of denials, appeals, and insurance collections
- Must have knowledge of ICD10 and CPT coding
- Must have a working knowledge of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) and a comprehensive understanding of remittance and remark codes
- Be familiar with multiple payer requirements for claims processing
- Solid Microsoft Office skillset
- Good communication skills
