Summary:
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
1. Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
2. Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
3. Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
4. Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
5. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of a program for Medical Assistants and has a CMA certificate.
Certified CMA required
Experience:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
