Description
Job Summary:
- Performs basic patient care activities and related non-professional services in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients
- Monitors and records vital signs
- Set up, maintain and uses equipment and devices
Essential Functions:
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects artifacts
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental or emotional conditions to nursing staff
- Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
Certification:
- Current State Certification (CNA)
- BLS-required upon hire and continuously thereafter
- CPI - required within 6 months of hire and annually thereafter
- EKG Certification - required within 3 months of hire and continuously thereafter
Experience:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
