What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Controller position at CAROLINA PRG?
We are partnering with a global manufacturer of complex equipment that is looking to bring on a leader for one of their divisions. The role will have great exposure to the CFO & Corporate Controller and will be part of the global finance team. The group has a talented Accountant that will partner with this person to facilitate the accounting responsibilities. The role will spend 60% of their time budgeting, forecasting, partnering with the commercial side of the business, developing quarterly financial estimates, preparing financial estimates, and presenting findings to senior management. 40% of the position will be connected to the commercial side of the business.
DESCRIPTION:
- Prepare and present the monthly financial results, quarterly forecasts, and annual budget for the division.
- Partner with the commercial side of the business to work on sales forecasting, margin analysis, customer, and product analysis.
- Responsible for the accurate treatment of Project Accounting and revenue recognition (percentage of Completion).
- Work with the systems in place to develop a strong reporting system with the goal of optimizing operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Help partner with global leadership to more fully utilize a new ERP system.
- Track the progress of large projects and update project financials accordingly.
- Update work-in-progress for projects and perform the analysis of cost vs. budget. Communicate the progress to leadership.
- Help facilitate the external audit.
- Monitor and evaluate the working capital accounts to ensure division targets are met.
- Perform advanced analysis and review of complex financial transactions.
- Interaction with procurement, logistics and engineering department in identifying and carry out improvement in procurement and supply chain.
- Lead the continuing work in identifying and carrying out cost improvements and efficiency measures through profitability analysis of product portfolio as well as purchase price developments.
- Participate in designated business and manufacturing projects i.e. production localization, various CAPEX and ERP projects
- Understands and appreciates technology and leverages its importance in driving efficiency and scalability in a cost-efficient manner
EXPERIENCE:
- 4-degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of experience, manufacturing/project construction experience is preferred
- Solid foundation and understanding in accounting
- Advanced Excel and large ERP experience required
- Ability to work across many different departments and bring people together with a common goal.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
