What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Accountant position at CAROLINA PRG?
Our client is a growing Charlotte based Commercial Real Estate Developer in Charlotte. Due to tremendous growth across their operating and development platforms, they are seeking a Senior Accountant. This position reports to an INCREDIBLE leadership team that prides themselves on mentoring and leading, but not micromanaging. This is an established team that has worked together for over 8 years and they are seeking hardworking, fun team members to compliment their successful team.
Development Property Responsibilities:
- Construction Draws: Prepare and submit draw requests, gather invoices and required backup, and coordinate approvals with developers and banks. Monitor funding status, resolve delays, verify receipts, and reconcile outstanding receivables and cash balances.
- Reconciliations & Reporting: Reconcile Job Cost subledger to WIP in the GL, verify construction loan balances, and complete monthly GL reconciliations. Review trial balances, ensuring accuracy of loan amounts and interest.
- Cash Management: Monitor daily cash balances, process transfers, book transactions promptly, and track incoming wires/ACH deposits.
- Job Cost & General Ledger: Record draw-related journal entries, assist developers with invoice coding, A/P research, reconciliations, and project cost projections.
Operating Property Responsibilities:
- Daily & Weekly Tasks: Monitor cash balances, process wire transfers, manage cash receipts, record journal entries, and oversee security deposits. Clear GL accounts and track outstanding checks.
- Month-End Close: Perform reconciliations, management fee calculations, A/R reconciliations, delinquency reporting, mortgage statement reviews, and prepare financial statements and reporting packages.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3 years of experience (real estate industry preferred).
- Construction job cost accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Excel & Word.
