The Contents Moving Specialist is a crucial member of our restoration team. This role involves professionally handling, packing, unpacking, wrapping, moving, inventorying, cleaning, and returning customer contents affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, sewer, or storm damage.
This position requires working after hours/on-call on a rotational basis, which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Overall Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent customer service
- Drive company vehicles responsibly, utilizing good judgment and driving skills
- Pack-out and/or pack-in furniture and contents efficiently to minimize loss
- Clean furniture and contents using prescribed techniques
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required
- Pack trucks securely, load, and unload contents
- Set and redistribute contents from warehouse vaults to the contents cleaning room, if necessary
- Promptly identify and handle urgent care items that require immediate attention
- Follow company policies for handling specialty items
- Take photos and written inventories of items and record any marks or damage
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
- Daily completion of work orders, inventory sheets, photo/video documentation, paperwork, timecards, and other required documents
Physical Demands:
Heavy Work: Exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- Standing: For sustained periods
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving between work sites
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and similar structures
- Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward at the waist
- Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to rest
- Crouching: Bending body downward and forward at the knees and waist
- Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
- Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand
- Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken word to others accurately and quickly when necessary
- Hearing: Receiving detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels
- Vision: Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, visually inspecting small parts, and operating machines and tools
- Vision: Visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work performed
Work Environment:
Work is performed at various jobsites and in a warehouse; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to:
- Weather and hot/cold temperature changes
- Dirt, dust, soot, and possibly mold
- Unclimate-controlled work environments
- Noise
- Ladders to use for high heights
- Hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals
- Atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
- Close quarters: crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, attics, etc.
- Gloves, back brace, respirators, and splash goggles available for use
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience in cleaning/moving preferred
- Working knowledge of best practices for wrapping and packing furniture and contents, as well as safely moving difficult items
- Self-motivated, dependable, and disciplined to stay on task
- Excellent customer service skills and a team spirit
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to work after hours/on-call on a rotational basis
