I. Summary
Join an established and thriving private practice on the Eastside of Spartanburg. We are looking to add a full-time, dedicated Dental Hygienist as our office continues to grow. We treat our patients like family and seek to do the same internally with our team. Come grow with us at Carolina Smiles!
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments.
- Examines gums using probes to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. Feels lymph nodes under patient’s chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate the presence of oral cancer.
- Applies fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
- Take and process dental x-rays
- Records and reviews patient medical histories. Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
- Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments.
- Provides clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public.

- Professional, courteous, and approachable demeanor
- Ability to connect with patients and strong customer service skills
- Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certification (preferred)
- Local Anesthetic Administration Certification (preferred)
- Knowledgeable with Eaglesoft (preferred)
- 1 years of experience (preferred)
- Current CPR certification (required)
