What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Technician position at Carolina Solar Services?
Position Summary:
The Landscaping Technician will be an integral member of a regional landscaping team. Responsible for groundskeeping, the landscaping technician will safely operate equipment to keep solar sites well maintained and follow the direction of the Crew Lead and Regional Manager to ensure CSS fulfills service obligations.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for vegetation maintenance and weed abatement on solar PV power plant grounds with services including, but not limited to:
- Mowing
- Herbicide mixing and application
- String trimming
- Grading, seeding, and erosion repair
- Be a self-starter and work independently on tasks assigned by crew lead and management.
- Maintain and repair landscaping equipment and vehicles as needed
- Provide timely Field Service Reports back to Operations staff for delivery to client
- Assist the electrical services teams, special projects and livestock service teams as needed
- Ensure premium client service and excellence in groundskeeping management
- Routine overtime work and travel out of town for overnight work required as an essential function of the role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience operating and maintaining equipment including:
- Zero turn mowers
- Tractors
- Mini excavators
- Compact track loaders
- String trimmers
- Bushhogs
- Ability to safely and routinely strap, bind, chain, and tow a loaded 30’ gooseneck trailer
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record in order to operate a company vehicle
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short distances for 8-10 hours a day
Work Environment:
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold
