Basketball Coach (AAU)

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated boys Basketball Coaches to lead and develop our athletes in a supportive and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching skills, a deep understanding of basketball fundamentals, and the ability to inspire young players. This role involves working closely with our students athletes to enhance their skills, promote teamwork, and foster a love for the game.

Duties

• Develop and implement effective training programs focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Conduct regular practices and drills to improve players' techniques and strategies.
• Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their personal best.
• Organize and lead competitive games, ensuring adherence to rules and fair play.
• Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, discipline, and hard work.
• Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other coaches to support the overall development of student-athletes.
• Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain a productive practice environment.
• Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle choices among athletes.
• Practice will be held twice a week. Days vary on preference and scheduling for about a hour and a half of less.
• Tournaments are held on Saturdays. Occasionally Friday- Sunday depending on level of tournament. Most will be just Saturday.
• Season is Mid March - End of July 2025

Requirements

• Experience in sports coaching, particularly in basketball or related sports.
• Background in physical education or health club settings is preferred.
• Previous experience working with students or children is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young athletes.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies to effectively handle diverse student needs.
• Ability to work in a gym setting and facilitate activities that may include physical challenges.
• A commitment to promoting safety and well-being during all training sessions.

Disclaimer: We are currently only looking for boys coaches at this time. For grades 4th-11th. Which is dependent on experience and your preference.
