Jenzabar Database Administrator
Job Summary: Carolina University is seeking a skilled Jenzabar Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for both Jenzabar system administration and database management, ensuring seamless integration, functionality, and support across various university departments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Jenzabar One, Jenzabar CX, or other Jenzabar solutions, along with expertise in database administration, SQL optimization, and system security.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and actively advance the Carolina University Vision and Mission while supporting strategic growth and scalability.
- Administer, configure, and optimize the Jenzabar system, ensuring smooth operation and maximum efficiency across all university functions.
- Provide technical and functional support for Jenzabar applications, including Student Information Systems (SIS), Financial Aid, Admissions, and other related modules.
- Manage and maintain university databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement data models and system configurations to enhance performance and usability for end-users.
- Enforce security measures, including user access management, encryption, and policy enforcement, to protect sensitive student and institutional data.
- Establish robust backup and disaster recovery protocols, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime during system failures.
- Monitor and analyze Jenzabar system and database performance, optimizing queries, workflows, and configurations for peak efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Jenzabar and database-related issues, such as system errors, integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and data corruption.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and continuity.
- Provide training and support to faculty, staff, and students on Jenzabar system functionality, database management, and reporting tools.
- Ensure compliance with higher education regulations, FERPA, and industry best practices by conducting audits, implementing access controls, and maintaining audit trails.
- Develop and generate institutional reports and dashboards using Jenzabar’s reporting tools and SQL-based reporting solutions.
- Support and integrate Jenzabar with other university systems, such as LMS platforms, financial systems, and CRM tools.
- Perform additional responsibilities as determined by the Director of Technology.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or similar) or equivalent work experience.
- At least two years of hands-on experience with Jenzabar solutions, including Jenzabar One, Jenzabar CX, Jenzabar EX, or other Jenzabar modules.
- At least three years of database administration experience, including SQL query optimization, data modeling, and system performance tuning.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and system optimization skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace, and Windows Active Directory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student and faculty population.
- Ability to generate reports, develop dashboards, and present data-driven insights.
- Experience in developing and delivering training materials for staff and faculty.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to develop and implement new strategies and procedures harmoniously with university administration.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive data.
- Commitment to on-campus office hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM) with occasional additional support as needed.
- Willingness to learn new software tools as necessary.
Job Overview:
Salary:
$65,000 - $80,000
Competitive and based on experience.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Flexibility to work additional hours when needed based on business demands.
