Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for performing basic maintenance tasks, repairs, and general facility upkeep under the supervision of Maintenance Technician 2 and Lead Technician. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with preventive maintenance, responding to service requests, and ensuring that all systems and equipment are operating efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and general building maintenance.
- Assist in diagnosis and repair of minor facility issues, escalating complex problems to Tech 2 or Lead Tech.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruptions.
- Conduct regular inspections and document findings to report any necessary repairs.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend the life of equipment and reduce downtime.
- Assist in lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting mechanical systems.
- Replace light fixtures, air filters, belts, and other small components as needed.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by ensuring proper use of tools and equipment.
- Report any safety hazards, spills, or issues to Tech 2, Lead Tech, or Maintenance Director.
- Work closely with Maintenance Tech 2, Lead Tech, and Maintenance Director to complete tasks efficiently.
- Assist in facility projects, renovations, and special assignments as needed.
- Learn and improve technical skills through on-the-job training and team collaboration.
- Track and report tools, equipment, and parts usage to ensure proper inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and service requests.

Qualification, Education, and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred and/or 1 year of experience in maintenance, facilities repair, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs (preferred).
- Experience with hand and battery operated tools (preferred).
Licensure/Certification Responsibility Requirements:
- Job related certifications (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
- Ability to walk, stand, bend and climb ladders as needed.
