What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Electrophysiology Lab position at CarolinaEast Health System?
JOB SUMMARY: Performs the patient care aspect of diagnostic and interventional EP lab procedures. Preps and recovers patient pre/post procedure. Performs moderate sedation and records vital signs. Maintains continuity of care for patients while they are in the electrophysiology lab, prepares charts for procedures. Operate POC testing as required. The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse must be able to maintain calm while being effective and accurate in critical situations, foster an environment of collaboration and respect, and maintains a positive approach to working in a fast paced environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate from an approved School of Professional Nursing.
- Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and two (2) years’ experience as a Critical Care Nurse preferred
- Maintain BLS certification. ACLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current
- The Registered Nurse must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on this unit
- The individual must demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures
