As the Electrical Construction Services Director at MetroPower/CarolinaPower, you will lead, oversee, and drive the implementation of Electrical Virtual Design Construction (VDC) and Electrical Prefabrication for the Southern Companies within our organization. You will play a crucial role in integrating advanced construction methodologies to enhance project efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This pivotal role requires strategic leadership to optimize project efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across our operations in Columbia, SC and Atlanta, GA.

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans for electrical VDC and prefabrication initiatives aligned with MetroPower/CarolinaPower’s objectives and industry standards.
- Project Oversight: Provide strategic oversight and direction for electrical VDC projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Technology Integration: Evaluate, implement, and manage state-of-the-art technologies and tools related to electrical VDC and prefabrication to optimize project outcomes and operational efficiencies.
- Team Management: Lead a multidisciplinary team of VDC specialists, electrical engineers, project managers, and prefabrication experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Facility Oversight: Travel to and oversee operations at prefab facilities in Columbia, SC and Atlanta, GA, ensuring seamless integration of prefabrication processes into overall project workflows.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with PPC company Construction Service Manager, internal stakeholders, including department heads, project managers, engineers, and clients, to seamlessly integrate electrical VDC and prefabrication processes into overall project workflows.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols and standards for electrical VDC and prefabrication activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and MetroPower/CarolinaPower’s quality benchmarks.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control costs associated with electrical VDC and prefabrication projects, leveraging efficient resource allocation and maximizing project profitability.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with electrical VDC and prefabrication initiatives, proactively developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical construction services, with a strong emphasis on VDC and prefabrication.
- Expertise in electrical systems, construction methodologies, and relevant building codes.
- Proficiency in VDC software applications (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with prefabrication techniques.
- Experience in manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
