Electrical Prefabrication Project Manager
MetroPower is currently hiring for a Prefabrication Project Manager. This person will be responsible for managing projects under the direction of the Prefabrication Manager as a supervising contributor. This role requires using computer-aided design programs such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Revit to create detailed and accurate schematics, models, designs, and drawings for prefabrication & installation using information from field staff layouts and contract drawings. Other duties include collaboration and coordination with field leadership to ensure client satisfaction of job specific design elements as well as production scheduling, drawing quality control, and problem resolution. The Prefabrication Project Manager will oversee other Designer/Drafters in the department and share innovative ideas that may improve the quality of their designs for the most efficient electrical installations possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand all aspects of prefabrication design and be able to professionally represent - Preconstruction Services by having a thorough knowledge of the full product line and department’s design capabilities & services
- Attend project kickoff meetings with project teams and the Prefabrication Manager to assign tasks & responsibilities, discuss schedules, and review possible prefabrication opportunities
- Conceptualize project specific scope of work, specifications, scheduling, and other requirements that would influence the use of prefabricated products
- Lead the preparation of design schedules and execution plans
- Assist with the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs) and change orders, in coordination with project teams, to help develop construction schedules and assist in the estimation of prefabricated products
- Schedule regular meetings with project leadership and Designer/Drafters to ensure successful outcomes
- Understand the material requirements for projects, generate accurate bills of material per approved drawings, create purchase orders, and assist with the development of project specific submittal packages
- Monitor change orders, RFIs and drawing revisions which may affect production
- Update documents and schedules on whatever format they are being maintained
- Continuously train and educate fellow team members on the processes used so that they become more self sufficient
- Any other assigned duties and tasks that support the overall success of MetroPower
Customer Service:
- Communicate and work closely with teams in the field to monitor the progress of their project and obtain feedback for any prefabricated products being utilized
- Cultivate positive relationships through successful project delivery and assistance when needed
- Ensure proper logistic execution of prefabricated products by highlighting possible risks and providing action to resolve any issues the field may be having
- Consistently follow up on projects, survey jobsites for quality of work and evaluate cohesion with the prefabrication design and execution plan ensuring the customer feels important, understood and well serviced.
- Review progress of prefabricated product installations and discuss any improvements and/or modifications necessary to maintain efficiencies in production
Design:
- Import and manipulate files using software to produce prefabrication installation drawings that will be used in the field
- Layout conduit, provide junction box locations and circuit pathways based on predetermined standards
- Create data sheets in coordination with design to provide building and material information
- Data tracking and logging in Microsoft Excel
- Review and comply with department standards while making suggestions to improve efficiencies and production
- Stay current on new electrical codes, technologies, techniques and practices, as they pertain to electrical construction and prefabrication, to continuously improve the department
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience in the eElectrical cConstruction industry - Required
- 1-5 years of previous management experience – Preferred
- Knowledge of designing software such as AutoCAD and Revit - Preferred
- Safety conscious with personal integrity – both[SH1] are non-negotiable

- Ability to read drawings and blueprints, interpret them, and translate that data into meaningful information
- Proficient and current with the National Electrical Code and Life Safety Codes
- Proficient with power, lighting, and lighting control systems’ design
- Strong leadership skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to encourage and promote the needs of the department with others, both inside and outside of the organization, while exhibiting professional customer service skills
- Effective communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage the department’s resources effectively and , balance workloads as demand dictates
- Must have a good attitude, a drive for success, and a desire to contribute immediately
- Must be able to develop the respect and trust of senior leadership within the company and train others within the department
