Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Help with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring clients can attend appointments or engage in community activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Support clients with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare staff including nurses and therapists to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to care for specific populations such as those in PICU or OR settings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical practices, geriatrics, outpatient care, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with working in a teaching hospital or Level II Trauma Center is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings including clinics and home environments.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred but not mandatory upon hiring; training will be provided.
