The Assistant Manager position will play a key role in the credit union’s success by ensuring the efficient daily operations of the credit union by overseeing staff, managing compliance, and supporting strategic planning. They play a key leadership role in maintaining service excellence, regulatory adherence, and operational effectiveness while stepping in for the CEO as needed.
What you’ll do:
· Direct and supervise the operational management of credit union employees on a day-to-day basis.
· Recruit and select quality applicants for vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with competent employees.
· Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff.
· Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
· Assist in the preparation and implementation of the budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
· Develop, apply, and evaluate policies and procedures for the credit union.
· Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work and to provide consistent quality service to members.
· Evaluate the job performance of credit union staff to ensure quality of work and
· service to members.
· Attend board meetings and report on assigned areas of responsibility as requested by the president/CEO/manager.
· Review and develop strategic plans in relation to the overall goals of the credit union.
· Work with the auditor to ensure compliance with internal controls.
· Ensure that the credit union is in compliance with the federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
· Assume all responsibility of the credit union president/CEO/manager in his or her absence.
· Other duties as assigned.
To Qualify for this position, You’ll Have:
· At least one year of experience in a similar role.
· Strong risk management skills, regulatory compliance, and sound financial practices.
· A focus on member and financial education.
· Proven leadership ability with a track record of success in previous roles.
· The ability to develop and implement innovative strategies for organizational growth.
· Strong communication skills to effectively engage with members, staff, community partners, and stakeholders.
· A professional demeanor and a sincere commitment to serving others.
· Extensive knowledge of credit union laws, regulations, credit and collection procedures, and accounting practices.
· Ability to prepare fiscal reports, advise loan applicants, and develop policies and procedures.
· Considerable knowledge of investments and financial management.
· Experience in supervising and coordinating staff.
