Carolinas Geotechnical Group, PLLC (CG2), based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, provides geotechnical engineering services and design to government and private sectors. CG2 is seeking a full-time Staff Professional for on-the road work throughout North Carolina.
The individual will support the development of the geotechnical components of roadway and bridge projects. Position responsibilities include coordination of field explorations, field logging of soil and rock samples, and project record keeping. The position will work under supervision of a Licensed Geologist (LG) and/or Professional Engineer (PE). Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, possess the ability to work as a team player, and be willing to travel up to 5 days per week or in excess of 90% of the time.
Qualifications:
- BS in Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent degree;
- Geologist-in-Training or Engineer-in-Training certification preferred;
- 5 years of relevant experience;
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word with ability to learn commercial software applications required;
- Overnight out of town travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours (i.e., nightwork) required. Anticipate travel 5 days per week or in excess of 90% of the time;
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
- Routine lifting required: 40 to 50 lbs.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must have a valid drivers license, possess an acceptable motor vehicle report, pass a drug and alcohol screening, and provide previous employer references.
