Interested in stepping into the hemp/cannabis industry? Here at Carolindica we craft our own cannabis products and we are in need of additional team members to help us keep up with demand.
As a manufacturing specialist, you will be directly involved with the creation of cannabis products on a regular production schedule, with time also spent on research and development (for example, running test batches on new flavors to see if you can make an even tastier gummy). You will perform a wide variety of tasks, all while upholding the company's high manufacturing and food safety and sanitation standards. This position is perfect for those with food science experience, or a passion for high quality edibles. This is our entry level position in our manufacturing division; however it also opens up the doors for future roles and responsibilities, including fulfillment, operations, accounting, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
- All employees must be able to commute to our Raleigh facility on a daily basis. Please do not apply if you are not able to commute to Raleigh, as we are not offering relocation assistance for this position.
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) if applicable.
- Must report and/or correct any unsafe conditions in the Raw Material Warehouse.
- Must follow Raw Material expectation criteria for covering, banding, wrapping or protecting our inventory.
- Assist in packing out materials and creating finished products
- Communicate any inventory inconsistencies to the Shift Manager or team lead.
- Assist in the movement of inventory to or from any area or department as required or as requested by supervision. Pull and put-away all orders accurately and completely.
- Complete all paperwork or electronic data and in a timely manner.
- Read and understand work order information.
- Support the company’s culture and values by promoting communication, teamwork, and respectful treatment of all individuals.
- Consolidates materials, and provide maximum space utilization and protection of materials;
- Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials on docking areas;
- Rotates stock, check for outdated materials and maintains the appropriate safeguards and temperature controls;
- Groups supplies in a logical and easy access manner while ensuring maximum efficiency of space;
- Coordinates all excess/turn-ins of equipment and materials;
- May serve as a senior member of a warehouse project team;
- Selecting, preparing, and loading product for outbound shipment per customer specifications
- Responsible for the storage of raw material, ingredients or finished product
- Receiving, unloading, and inspecting inbound ingredients/packaging materials
- Assist in training new employees
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills
- High School Diploma or education equivalent.
- 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or manufacturing environment.
Physical Environment & Working Conditions
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
Compensation & Benefits
This is a W2 part time position (20-35 hours per week). Wages start at $12.50-$15.00 an hour, with a variety of opportunities for full time roles, promotions, raises and other advancements inside our company.
