Job Summary
The Coordinator of Network Services is responsible for managing, planning, implementing, and integrating the LAN and WLAN infrastructure and connected systems at CCPS. This role ensures robust network performance through proactive troubleshooting, regular operations and maintenance, and continuous solution implementation. In addition, the coordinator will oversee formal hardware upgrades, firmware evaluations, and the optimization of network infrastructure. A key aspect of this position is to provide guidance and support to both internal personnel and external contractors while offering technical direction in areas such as Apple desktop hardware, software, networking, wireless, and VoIP troubleshooting.
Essential Functions
- Network Management & Integration:
- Plan, implement, and integrate LAN and WLAN infrastructures.
- Manage connected systems and coordinate with state and local agencies to ensure network reliability and performance.
- Technical Operations & Maintenance:
- Conduct troubleshooting, routine operations, and maintenance of network systems.
- Perform solution implementation, including formal hardware upgrades and firmware evaluations.
- Optimize LAN infrastructure solutions for enhanced performance.
- Project Coordination & Support:
- Coordinate and provide guidance to personnel and contractors.
- Oversee network design, formal hardware and software assessments, and technical support initiatives.
- Manage planning, organizing, and execution of network-related projects.
- Specialized Technical Support:
- Provide expert support in Apple desktop hardware and enterprise-level Apple operating systems.
- Administer Apple device management (MDM) including configuration profile and software distribution policy development as well as software installation package management.
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise fiber optic, Ethernet and WiFi networks.
- Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and management of IP security camera systems.
- Oversee the operation and management of Barracuda firewall software and Extreme Network switching equipment.
- Provide troubleshooting guidance with wireless and VoIP network troubleshooting.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Perform duties that may require physical activity, including the ability to climb ladders when necessary.
- Management and ensuring conformance to cybersecurity standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience & Technical Skills:
- 3-5 years of hands-on networking experience in a dynamic, enterprise-level environment.
- Proven track record in managing LAN/WLAN infrastructures, including effective troubleshooting and executing upgrades.
- Proficiency in Apple device management (MDM) and enterprise-level Apple operating systems including patch management planning and implementation.
- Solid background in enterprise WiFi networking.
- Experience with Barracuda firewall and its management software.
- Competence with Extreme Network switching equipment.
- Familiarity with the installation, maintenance, and management of IP security cameras.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and managing network projects.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders as part of routine maintenance and installations.
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
- Certifications & Specialized Experience:
- Cybersecurity Certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with iPECS VOIP phone systems.
- Educational & Sector Experience:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in the education sector, specifically with enterprise-level Apple computer management.
Salary : $81,628 - $120,601
