Caron Transportation Systems USA is an bulk transportation company established in 2013 under the same ownership as Caron Transportation Systems located in Canada; which has been in the transportation industry for 65 years. Our US operations are comprised of Bulk Dry and Liquid Logistics, primarily for the Oil & Gas Industry.
We are currently seeking a full-time Terminal Manager for our Williston, North Dakota terminal. This position reports directly to our US General Manager and is responsible for overseeing an interstate fleet of approximately 25 trucks, as well as all activities at the terminal level including operations, sales, safety, employee management, and administration.
Job Duties:
- Operations
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of equipment
- Oversee fleet maintenance and shop staff
- Resolve operational issues
- Ensure permits and registrations are up to date
- Sales
- Coordinate with the VP of Business Development to ensure:
- Customer relations are effectively managed
- Customer concerns are resolved in a professional and timely matter
- Field audits are completed
- Coordinate with the VP of Business Development to ensure:
- Safety
- Coordinate with the Safety Manager to ensure:
- All safety training requirements are met
- Proper reporting procedures are followed
- Safety standards are followed and enforced (HOS, OSHA, DOT etc.)
- Regulatory compliances are met
- Coordinate with the Safety Manager to ensure:
- Employee Management
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies
- Coordinate with the Dispatch Team regarding employee issues and concerns; consult with Human Resources as required
- Verify driver attendance records and dispatch pay
- Assist with incident reporting
- Develop, mentor, and provide leadership to all staff members
- Perform probationary and yearly performance reviews of all personnel
- Oversee and lead employee meetings
- Administrative
- Oversee all billing documentation is completed accurately and in a timely matter
- Oversee all internal accounting (AR, AP, PO’s, Work Orders and Inventory)
- Oversee daily delivery paperwork process
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of directly related experience (knowledge of pneumatic equipment is considered an asset)
- Valid Class C Driver’s License (valid CDL is considered an asset)
- Polite and professional attitude
- Interpersonal skills working with people from a range of backgrounds
- Strong customer focus
- Reliable, strong work ethic
- Ability to do occasional heavy lifting
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate
