Duties And Responsibilities
- Student support: Provide individualized support to students, helping them navigate academic challenges, complete assignments and provide academic support.
- Academic case management: In combination with educational alliance, develop and implement action plans for students to maintain their academics while participating in substance use treatment.
- Monitoring and follow-up: Track students’ progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work with home school faculty, staff and external partners to coordinate academic services and support for students.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student interactions and case management activities.
- Maintain personal knowledgebase on collegiate career outlooks.
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and complies with regulations and follows Caron policies.

- Must be able to present to audiences in large and small group settings, which may require long periods of time and be of multiple presentations
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in education. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in academic case management, academic advising or a related field. Experience working in behavioral health industry is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- If in recovery, 1 to 2 years of continued sobriety preferred
- Experience with online learning platforms such as Google Classroom, Schoology, Canvas etc.
- Understanding of Pennsylvania’s core standards (PA Common Core State standards as well as the National Common Core).
- The ability to handle crisis situations calmly and with a professional demeanor.
- Must endorse Caron’s philosophy that chemical dependency is a primary disease process.
- Understands the emotional and behavioral effects of addiction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with a variety of people and build relationships both internal and external to the organization.
