Enixus Center is a small private practice located in Sylvania, Ohio and Ida, Michigan that offers functional medicine with an integrative approach and lifestyle modification.

Job Description:
A functional medicine nurse practitioner (FMNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of health issues by taking a holistic approach to patient care, incorporating lifestyle factors, nutrition, and supplements alongside conventional medicine to create personalized treatment plans and promote overall well-being; they conduct in-depth patient assessments, considering the interconnectedness of various body systems, genetics, and environmental influences while collaborating with patients to optimize their health through lifestyle modifications and targeted interventions. Key responsibilities of a functional medicine nurse practitioner may include:
- Comprehensive patient assessment: Conducting thorough medical history reviews, physical exams, and ordering specialized functional medicine lab tests to gain a deeper understanding of a patient's health concerns.
- Lifestyle counseling: Educating patients on lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, sleep hygiene, stress management, and environmental exposures that may impact their health.
- Nutritional therapy: Providing personalized dietary guidance based on individual needs, including recommendations for specific foods and supplements.
- Integrative treatment plans: Developing holistic treatment plans that may include conventional medications, nutraceuticals, herbal remedies, and other alternative therapies when appropriate.
- Hormone balancing: Assessing and managing hormonal imbalances through dietary and lifestyle modifications, as well as potential bioidentical hormone replacement therapies.
- Stress management techniques: Incorporating stress reduction strategies like mindfulness practices, relaxation techniques, and breathwork into patient care
- Collaboration with other healthcare providers: Working with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, dietitians, and therapists, to coordinate patient care.
- Patient education and empowerment: Actively engaging patients in their healthcare decisions and providing ongoing support to promote self-management.
Required qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner license: A valid Ohio and/or Michigan nursing license and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Functional Medicine Certification: Certification from a recognized functional medicine organization, like the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). We will also consider candidates who are currently studying / working on certification.
- Strong clinical skills: Expertise in physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of various health conditions.
- Knowledge of functional medicine principles: Understanding of the root cause approach, including the role of nutrition, genetics, and environmental factors in health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport with patients, actively listen, and effectively educate them about their health.
