What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Representative position at Carpenter & Paterson?
Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for an Outside Sales Representative based out of our branch in our Bordentown, NJ area. This position achieve maximum sales, profitability, help grow sales and account insights within a multi-state territory in the Northern states and identifies solid market segment by effectively selling the company’s catalog and engineered pipe supports, as well our engineered designs and project management related to infrastructure projects. Will also be responsible for personally contacting and securing new business accounts and customers.
Essential Duties:
- Establish, develop, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in order to generate new business for the organization’s products and services
- Respond to prospective customer inquiries and requests for quotations
- Perform business development calls, presentations, and related follow up
- Identify new business opportunities within distribution, end user targets, and large industrial projects
- Train end users on C&P’s products and services
- Support existing product lines by fielding technical questions from customers
- Direct customer interface – both in a local territory, as well as overnight travel is required
- Become technically proficient in customers’ applications as well as gain knowledge of new uses for existing products
- Participates in trade shows and conventions
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate:
- Sales experience in pipe hangers, engineered pipe supports, industrial construction, wastewater projects, or other relative construction is a plus
- A commitment to our culture of teamwork and collaboration is essential
- Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Good organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate solid sales strategy system
- Above average verbal and written communication
