What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Receiver/Attendant position at Carpenter's Place?
Carpenter's Place, a local faith-based not-for-profit organization, has an opening for a full or part time Donation Receiver who will potentially be the first interaction a person, customer, or donor has with Carpenter's Corner Thrift Store; therefore, it is imperative that the Receiver has a positive, outgoing personality that is welcoming and exudes the highest level of customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Welcome donors in a timely manner in a way that they feel confident that Carpenter's Corner Thrift Store appreciates them and understands their value.
- Handle the receiving and donation process with the utmost respect and care including, greeting the donor, assisting in unloading donations, telling the Carpenter's Corner Thrift Stores story, repeating details back to donor and issuing a receipt.
- Through the highest level of customer service and hospitality, plants a seed for repeated business and donations to Carpenter's Corner Thrift Store with every donor.
- Maintain clean and well-organized reception area, to include the parking lot where applicable.
- Adhere to and implement daily, all employee policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Policy and Procedures manual and the Carpenter's Corner Thrift Stores' Mission Statement.
- Communicate, daily, to the Processing Manager and Receiving Manager any necessary information that relates to their respective departments.
- Work with and effectively communicate with the Receiving Manager, other processing members of the Receiving and Processing teams.
- Daily serve with fellow employees so that there is a healthy and productive work environment.
- Effectively use the donation receiving script to communicate appreciation, the Carpenter's Corner Story.

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS
Part time to full time, Monday through Saturday, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Attendance at specific meetings, off-site events or training, as required.
