This position is responsible for packaging, labeling, loading and shipping foam products. This position will communicate with lead person for direction of orders and shipments for completion. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations of excellence. This successful candidate will be expected to be efficient in the operation of equipment within the department to determine the best material utilization.
Additional responsibilities of the Packaging / Dock Worker will include :
- Good Attendance, while demonstrating safe working habits and attitude.
- Learns the packaging and loading requirements of completed parts and their quality standards.
- Must be able to handle repetitive motions of hands, arms, and fingers while packaging.
- Manually loading and unloading of trailers by hand and with fork truck; with and without assistance.
- Work within trailers during extreme cold and warm weather as needed (NO refrigeration operations).
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours in one place. Some heavier lifting is required, up to 50lbs.
- Able to operate computer for order look-up, printing and labeling / shipment needs.
- Learn the location of raw materials in the warehouse area and properly organize and inventory area.
Typical daily breakdown :
Package foam products by hand : 50-70%
Load truck and pallets by hand : 10-20%
Forklift operation : 5-10%
Paperwork and processing shipments : 5-10%
Job Skills / Requirements
