Metal Framer/Drywall Hanger

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal stud Framer/Drywall Hanger to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in layout, Metal stud framing, drywall installation and finishing, ensuring high-quality workmanship on various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to read and interpret prints. Project duration is 4 months, with potential to go to next project in Montgomery that could last 1 1/2-2 years.

Duties

• Layout and framing for hard/walk-on ceilings; Frame metal stud walls (16-20 gauge studs)
• Install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment.
• Measure, cut, and shape drywall panels to fit around windows, doors, and electrical outlets.
• Apply plaster or joint compound to seams and screw holes for a smooth finish.
• Perform caulking tasks to seal gaps between drywall and other surfaces.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site,.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols while working on construction sites.

Requirements

• Proven 5 years experience as a Metal stud Framer/Drywall Hanger for Journeyman rate, less experience may qualify for Apprentice rates.
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately.
• Knowledge of plastering techniques and tile laying is advantageous.
• Strong skills in caulking, plumb installation, and maintenance person tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work.
• Physical stamina to handle lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• E-verifiable (US citizenship not necessary); must have 2 forms of ID

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $22.65 - $32.35 per hour

Expected hours: 60 per week
