Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic marina team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to facilitate the efficient and safe movement of watercraft within our facility. This role requires a strong understanding of marina operations and adherence to safety protocols. Boat marina experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to load, unload, and move watercraft.
- Ensure proper handling of boats during launch processes.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure safe operation.
- Collaborate with marina manager and office manager to optimize workflow and improve efficiency.
- Follow OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Flushing motors and washing boat hulls upon retrieval.
- Ability to function and communicate with marina staff and marina members in a professional manner.
- Perform other duties at the marina on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse or boat marina setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment while maintaining safety standards.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred; OSHA certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
