Job Summary:
Carrera Custom Painting, a Division of Patrick Industries is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support their growing Business Unit in all facets related to Human Resources. Under the direction of the HR Manager, the Human Resource Generalist will act as a partner to the 100 Team Members and Leadership Team throughout Carrera to successfully support components of HR functions. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, possessing a strong understanding of HR principles and practices. As a pivotal member of our HR team, you will play a key role in fostering a positive work environment, supporting employee engagement, driving HR initiatives, and implementing HRIS solutions aligned with business objectives.
Carrera Custom Painting, a Division of Patrick Industries, is located in Elkhart, Indiana and is one of the area’s leading paint shops, specializing in OEM RV, trailer, and motorhome full body paint jobs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Candidates should have the ability to successfully manage all components of the Human Resource generalist functions so they may help guide and support issues when they arise. The position will have a high floor presence to be able to interact daily with production employees as well as acting also as a strategic partner. They will be responsible for management platforms within the Business Unit that include, but are not limited to: day to day performance management, talent management and workforce planning.
· Provide full-cycle HR support, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, leave management, and investigations.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices in both Spanish and English.
· Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning, to enhance employee performance and engagement.
· Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially, addressing concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, with a keen understanding of manufacturing-specific dynamics.
· Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints and disciplinary issues, ensuring compliance with Patrick policy, Business Unit policies and legal requirements.
· Collaborate with HR colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement HR initiatives, programs, and policies that support organizational objectives and promote a positive workplace culture.
· Manage leave processes, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable regulations, ensuring compliance and providing guidance to employees and managers regarding leave entitlements, documentation requirements, and return-to-work protocols.
· Stay current on HR trends, regulations, and best practices, proactively recommending improvements to HR processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Support the implementation and optimization of HRIS solutions, ensuring data accuracy, system functionality, and user training to support HR processes and decision-making.
· Prepare HR reports and metrics related to recruitment, turnover, and other HR activities, providing insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
· Support recruitment activities for Carrera, collaborating with BU hiring managers to identify staffing needs, source candidates, conduct interviews, and facilitate the selection process.
· Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization by coordinating orientation sessions, completing necessary paperwork, and providing necessary training.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with exposure to the manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, and HRIS implementation.
- Ability to build strong relationships with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a high standard of attention to detail.
- A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities.
- The ability to produce innovative ideas and solutions to enhance the Business Unit’s daily functions.
- The ability to work independently in a busy environment with changing daily priorities.
