Requirements:
· Candidates with Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or related degrees are preferred.
· Candidates without designated degrees should have a CDA credential or equivalent (12 credits in Early Childhood Education or a related field) and two years’ experience.
· Act 33/34, FBI and NSOR clearances and physical/TB test
· Proficient computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet
Responsibilities:
· Follow best practices for keeping children healthy and safe in Center-based care, following all licensing and regulatory policies and procedures related to PA Department of Human Services (DHS), Keystone STARS and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
· Supervise children at all times including naptime, mealtime, and toileting times
· Use positive, sensitive and consistent encouragement with children
· Develop classroom lesson plans which provide children with a variety of developmentally appropriate and engaging experiences that are responsive to children’s needs
· Apply strong and appropriate classroom management skills
· Engage in professional growth activities to improve professional and personal skills
· Follow all Center policies and/or procedures as written in Job Description, Employee Handbook and Teacher Handbook
