The Funeral Assistant (Part-Time) Mortuary Transporter will be responsible for transporting deceased individuals from their place of death to the funeral home, and/or from the funeral home to a church or cemetery, with respect and dignity. Help assist with funeral services, at the funeral home or church, as well as line up cars and drive in a procession.
Compensation: $14 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time
This position will require heavy lifting, valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a drug screening.
- Mornings, early afternoons, Holidays & overnights are required (Drivers are on call will be doing transfers only.)
- Current MI drivers license with good driving record
- Experience is preferred, but am willing to train
- Must be willing to drive to complete transfers that can be at times hours away
- Professionalism and compassion are a must
Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Current MI Drivers License
· Ability to lift 75 lbs.
· Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
· Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
- Live in Sterling Heights or St. Clair Shores, MI area
