The Cemetery Superintendent is accountable for the overall management of the business’s maintenance crew and all of the tasks on the property and grounds to ensure the operations of the business run in accordance with policy and procedure and that the expectations of our client families and their guests are exceeded.
Compensation: starting $65,000 per year (depending on overall experience) negotiable

Location: Cloverdale Funeral Home located in Boise, Idaho.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years’ experience working on a grounds crew, either at a cemetery, a golf course, or a commercial landscape business.
- 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Valid Crematory Operators License highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects related to grounds, such as sprinkler installations, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Responsible for overall management of maintenance for grounds, property, and facilities.
- Selects employees and manages employee performance, including annual reviews, disciplinary action, and termination, when necessary.
- Ensures all grounds crews are properly trained on company procedures, safety, and equipment.
- Ensure daily interment schedule, work orders, and markers/monuments are executed and/or installed in a timely manner and within company guidelines and state regulations.
- Verifies interment order accuracy.
- Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies, and merchandise.
- Manages outside vendors, such as landscapers and contractors, to ensure compliance with relevant agreements.
- Manages special requests from client families such as addition of trees, benches, fences, etc.
- Assists client families regarding maintenance and servicing of monuments and grounds in accordance with company standards.
- Completes preparation and closure of interment site in a timely manner and in agreement with client family expectations and policies and procedures of the individual business.
- Mows, trims, edges, mulches, waters, prunes, and completes other activities related to ensuring a professional presentation of the cemetery grounds to client families and visitors.
- Performs minor maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of power equipment. Refers more serious problems to a mechanic.
- Identifies and remedies all hazards at location and on grounds.
