What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Designer position at Carrier and Company?
Carrier and Company Interiors seeks a detail oriented and highly technically skilled Senior Designer.
Candidate will have a Bachelors or Master’s degree from a competitive interior design program and have at least 7 years of full-time, professional experience in high-end residential design.
Daily tasks to include :
Assisting Principals with project programming
Design and planning
Project Budgeting
Project Presentations
Construction Administration
Scheduling
Reporting Project Status and follow up—ensuring the quality and accuracy of each project.
Must effectively communicate intent, plans, status, issues, alternatives, solutions and conflict resolutions - all while managing multiple projects.
The Candidate must display the following :
Extensive knowledge of the NYC furnishings and trade market
High end construction job-site experience for both new construction and renovations
Skilled with a high level of proficiency in Adobe Creative suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
Skilled with a high level of proficiency in 2D drawing - sketching and AutoCAD
Well Versed Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Fluent in the English language
Candidates need a current driver's license with flexibility to travel to sites in the NY metro region including CT, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey, as well as NYC.
While the position may be partially remote at this time candidate must be able to easily commute to NYC studio
