We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager at our office located in Tonawanda, NY. This role works on our Hebeler-Howard Marten (HHM) team and reports to the Director of Business Operations. The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring and summarizing progress of projects. They will also prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of projects.

This position is a full-time, exempt role with a normal schedule of Monday through Friday 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm. This position is on-site with the option to work remotely on Fridays after a probationary period.

What you'll do :

  • Learn the Hebeler-Howard Marten (HHM) product line and standards.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in compliance with our Process Map for Project Management in which includes :

Aid in project administration from beginning to end

  • Complete / support completion of cost estimates for new opportunities and sales efforts.
  • Analyze customer project requirements and communicate to engineering and production;
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end;
  • Single point of accountability to oversee, direct and manage deliverables of projects to customer from end to end of project;
  • Collaborate with vendors / suppliers on pricing, productivity ideas and material substitutions
  • Approve vendor / supplier deviations;
  • Work with our ERP System or other manufacturing software to create / load part numbers and material routings, update job information and pricing as requirements change;
  • Act as liaison between HHM customers and all departments within the company.
  • Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects or services;
  • Submit cost savings ideas (internal and externally);
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Meet with existing and potential customers;
  • Supporting the Customer Service team, where applicable;
  • Writing and follow-up of non-conformity reports, where applicable;
  • Represent the customer (point of customer) during design & fabrication of projects;
  • Support customer and 3rd party witness points / inspections;
  • Requirements :

  • Education and / or experience :
  • 4-year degree in a technical field; ideally mechanical or electrical engineering.

  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience managing industrial projects.
  • Can maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other project team members as well as customers;
  • Work with a sense of urgency
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows.
  • Able to manage several projects at one time with frequent interruptions
  • Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment
  • Ability to travel to Canada to facilitate work on projects manufactured in our sister business located in Port Colborne, Ontario.
  • Nice to have, but not required :

  • Design skills, familiarity with CAD, NX or Inventor
  • Awareness of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar software
