The Director, Manufacturing Operations will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. They will oversee all daily operations of the Plant, including assembly, fabrication, and maintenance. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes that will maximize engagement, safety, quality, and productivity. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

About This Position
The Director, Manufacturing Operations will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. They will oversee all daily operations of the Plant, including assembly, fabrication, and maintenance. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes that will maximize engagement, safety, quality, and productivity. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Partner with Materials and SIOP teams and ensure Product Forecast is accurate to Revenue Targets and Inventory goals.
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- 10 years experience in manufacturing environment with Bachelor’s Degree of art or science, OR 7 years experience in manufacturing environment with Master’s Degree.
- 7 years people management experience (direct and indirect reports) with Bachelor’s Degree, OR 5 years people management experience (direct and indirect reports) with Master’s Degree.
- Experience with Six Sigma/Lean processes.
- Able to motivate and lead employees.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Able to learn and use software applications including SAP, MES/ERP Systems.
- Experience operating with ISO standards.
- Experience in a union environment.
