About This Role
Trans Truck/Trailer has a position for a Lead Technician – Logistics who is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, involving providing routing information and issuing shipping instructions to guarantee shipments arrive at their correct location on schedule. It includes preparing customer quotes by examining products or materials to estimate quantities, weight, and the appropriate type of container for storage or transport. Analyzing data, preparing reports, and advising on strategic direction are key responsibilities. Additionally, the position supports key stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, and customers, while tracking quality, quantity, stock levels, transport routing, delivery timelines, and productivity. Finally, the role requires addressing any problems or complaints promptly and amicably to maintain seamless operations.
This is an onsite role in Athens, GA.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide routing information and issue shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and at their correct location
- Prepare quotes for customers, i.e., involve examining products or materials to estimate quantities or weight and type of container required for storage or transport
- Analyze data and prepare reports, reflect findings, and advise on strategic direction to your role
- Prepare paperwork for shipping and receiving team members, ensure correct product is located/ loaded/ and stocked properly
- Handle activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
- Partner with planning, warehouse, scheduling, and customer services departments
- Visualize, facilitate, optimize, and lead the full order cycle from start to finish
- Support key players, i.e., suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, and customers
- Track quality, quantity, stock, transport routing guide, delivery timelines, and productivity
- Identify process improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement activities within the shipping team and support teams
- Assist in the implementation of new tools and resources to improve the overall efficiency of the shipping processes
- Address any problems or complaints that may arise quickly and amicably
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years experience as a shipping coordinator and coordinating trucks coming in-bound/out-bound
- Degree
- 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 8 years of shipping experience
- Experience in traffic control/ distribution activities
- Organizational, communication, partnership, and social skills
- Practice relationship skills, ability to work across a broad range of job levels
