Description
The Assembler is responsible for the process of building a plywood reel from various components. The components of the reel are manufactured at the same plant and brought to the workstation for the Assembler. The Assembler follows a simple process to gather and combine several components together. The last step is to secure the components using a torque wrench. Reels can range from 20” to 36” in diameter.
As an Assembler, you must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. A top-notch Assembler should have the ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Attention to detail
- Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred
- For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist/squat, push, pull, and reach
- Must be able to acclimatize to the ambient local weather temperatures
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while standing
- Must be detail and quality oriented and willing to follow rules intended for a strong safety culture
- Must also be able to follow rules for personal protection consisting of safety glasses (face shield, as needed), ear buds, high visual shirt/vest, gloves, and safety toe shoes/boots
- Must have the ability to lift various components from 2 lb. to 10 lb. and push/pull to manipulate final product of up to 25 lb.
- Must be open to learning additional secondary tasks within the department such as t-nut, routers, sander, stacking and handler materials.
WORK ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Assembler is expected to work in a professional manner and to be punctual with perfect attendance
- The Assembler must also be a team player for the other members within the Assembly department
- The Assembler is expected to take pride in their workspace by maintaining great housekeeping
- The Assembler must be willing to immediately report any noncompliance, product issues, or an incident to the Shift Supervisor to help find fast solutions to potential problems
- The Assembler must be willing to learn additional tasks within the department in the event other team members need assistance.
