Description
The Assembler is responsible for the process of building a plywood reel from various components. The components of the reel are manufactured at the same plant and brought to the workstation for the Assembler. The Assembler follows a simple process to gather and combine several components together. The last step is to secure the components using a power gun. Reels can range from 12” to 30” in diameter. As an Assembler, you must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. A top-notch Assembler should have the ability to comprehend and follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Attention to detail
- Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred
- For safety reasons, you must be 18 years or older to be considered
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear, may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
- This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-10 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion.
- Must be able to use basic power tools such as power guns and drills.
- Must also be able to follow rules for personal protection consisting of safety glasses (face shield, as needed), ear buds, high visual shirt/vest, gloves, and safety toe shoes/boots
- Must be open to learning additional secondary tasks within the department such as the safely preparing and cutting cardboard tubes, and wood pieces using various pieces of equipment or machines
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold and loud noise levels.
WORK ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attendance: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance
- The Assembler must also be a team player for the other members within the Assembly department
- The Assembler is expected to take pride in their workspace by maintaining great housekeeping
- The Assembler must be willing to immediately report any noncompliance, product issues, or an incident to the Shift Supervisor to help find fast solutions to potential problems
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.20 per hour
