Description
The Plastic Production Lead will plan, organize, and monitor the production and operations in the manufacturing and assembly work environment. This position assists supervisors/management daily in planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and safety. The Plastic Production Lead will coordinate activities of department employees and monitor their work for preparing, expediting, and producing orders and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality operations.
Qualifications
- Assure that the work area meets or exceeds metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture, and report necessary measurements.
- Operate machinery, lifts, and perform assembly duties to meet production requirements.
- Perform quality checks at all steps of the production or assembly process.
- Oversee and monitor the receiving of all materials into the production area in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Examine work for exactness, neatness, meeting customer specifications, and company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate work and assign jobs to production area employees based on daily production, assembly and shipping schedules, including issuing written and oral instructions.
- Lead employees to effectively oversee their daily performance and to develop their knowledge and skills in the functional area. This may include responsibility for employee training, performance evaluation, counseling, and discipline as necessary.
- Train and motivate area employees to ensure their ability and performance in the functional area jobs, including the safe operation of
- Resolve discrepancies with other production areas.
- Interface with Manager(s) and Supervisor(s), and other company personnel to follow up on customer orders, shipment status, and the change of shifts.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned and fill in at other work areas, as needed.
- Assisting in the daily opening and closing of the building
Requirements:

- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals.
- Proficiency in reading tape measures and other measurements.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

- Clean assigned areas of the building or equipment as instructed by your supervisor.
