Description: Head Drama Sponsor (Spring and/or Fall)
Job Summary:
Qualifications: 1. A documented interest and background in the principles and practices of dramatic production.
Position Goal: To give high school students an opportunity to experience and develop their interests and skills in the various aspects of dramatic production. This program should permit those with unique talents to develop those talents, enable all students to develop an understanding and appreciation for dramatic arts, and provide a vehicle for students who may want to further study dramatic arts to get a quality background in performing and technical theater.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Schedules and produces at least one full dramatic production each school year.
2. Is available to consult and assist with other major productions during the year, or produces another dramatic production if there is student interest and demand.
3. Develops rehearsal and preparation schedules for students. This may need to be coordinated with other activity sponsors.
4. Follows established district policies in the purchasing of goods and services through both general and activity accounts.
5. Teaches and encourages the development of academically sound performing and technical skills for students who participate.
6. Provides supervision of students involved in rehearsals outside of school hours and activities taking place away from school facilities.
