PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Negotiated Agreement and Board Policy.
Qualifications: Current and Valid Iowa Teaching License, Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (K-8, 5-12), Health 5-12 (not required but preferred)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service provided by the district, and in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Work cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program.
- Provide appropriate safety instruction and make safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
- Maintain control of storage and use of school-owned property.
- Evaluate each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports.
- Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress.
- Cooperate with school administration in providing special performing groups for special occasions.
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Select, store, order, issue, and inventory equipment, materials, and supplies used in physical education program.
- Other duties as assigned by Administration.
