Position Title: Full-time Environmental Health Technician (EHT)
Reports To: Director of Environmental Health
Position Status: Full-time Non-Exempt (40 hours per week, Flexible)
Pay Grade Range: $15- $18 per hour
Essential Functions (including, but not limited to):
· Performs water sample collection
· Performs home sewage evaluations
· The Environmental Health Technician (EHT) is a supporting environmental staff position that can conduct work in the field under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).
· Daily work assignments will be assigned by the Director of Environmental Health based on the need and demand.
· Training in all environmental health programs will be provided as support in these programs areas fluctuates based on seasons.
· Participate in an agency emergency response and preparedness activities and training.
· May be required to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
· Participate in performance management and continuous quality improvement.
· Must be able and willing to work outdoors, in inclement weather and potentially uneven terrain.
Minimum Qualifications/Characteristics
· High School Diploma with associates degree or equivalent schooling with environmental studies focus
· Skilled tradesman in the field of water or sewage industry
· Valid Ohio Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation required.
· Must be a non-Tobacco user, CCGHD has a no tobacco use policy.
· Must be flexible in working outside normal working hours.
· The successful candidate will need to be detail oriented, organized, dependable and flexible.
· A successful candidate will need to be a self-starter and independent worker, who values educating the customer on environmental health programs.
