Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate processes and workflows; provides recommendations to optimize performance/outcomes; works with clinic team and hospital leadership to implement recommended strategies.
Manage quality improvement initiatives and studies (if applicable) to establish, maintain, and improve processes and procedures to deliver best-in-class patient experience, clinical outcomes and financial performance.
Manage and make decisions on complex administrative functions with minimal assistance.
Participates in the selection, orientation, training, development, and evaluation of staff members; monitors staff performance; recognizes staff members for meeting or exceeding performance standards; provides performance coaching and/or counseling as appropriate in accordance with hospital policy.
Regularly rounds with staff members; seeks and provides feedback, addresses all concerns in a timely manner.
Responsible for the regular review of the department’s income statement and financial performance; responsible to ensure the department operates in a fiscally responsible manner via managing revenue/charges, expenses, and resource allocation.
Communicates relevant revenue and expense information to hospital leadership, clinical providers, and administrative staff.
Actively participates in local and regional marketing strategies to develop value-based partnerships with community partners to promote community health services and initiatives.
Ensure all established policies, procedures, standards of practice, and conduct guidelines are followed in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and hospital policy.
Ensure all supplies, materials, and equipment inventories are maintained at appropriate levels to meet the demands of patient care, safety, utilization, and financial goals.
Prepare month-end, and annual general ledger close processes including preparation and review of journal entries, supporting documentation, and account reconciliations
Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls
Provide support for annual financial audits and compliance reporting
Prepare documentation for Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports completed annually
Prepare documentation for 990 tax returns
Create analytical reports to foster strategic development
Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to insure a professional, responsible and courteous environment
Maintains regular, predictable attendance according to hospital policy
Other duties as assigned
