Description
The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in the imaging department, responsible for operating MRI equipment and ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and implement protocols for MRI procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Provide direct patient care and instructions before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform IV injections and administer magnetic contrast agents as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to maintenance/supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Diagnostic Radiology with Advanced MRI Registry (MR) is required. Registry Eligible Multi-Imaging Tech with willingness to learn and become certified.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
- 1 year of experience in an MRI department in a hospital setting is preferred.
