POSITION SUMMARY
The Greenville office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking a Jr. Mechanical Design Engineer to assist with the preparation of design packages for industrial manufacturing clients. This role will work within an experienced group of engineers and designers to produce construction drawings, 3D models, equipment specifications, and related documentation for complex process manufacturing projects.

This role requires a BSME (FE/EIT preferred) and exposure to design software such as AutoCAD or Revit, with prior internship, co-op, or work experience preferred.

The Greenville office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking a Jr. Mechanical Design Engineer to assist with the preparation of design packages for industrial manufacturing clients. This role will work within an experienced group of engineers and designers to produce construction drawings, 3D models, equipment specifications, and related documentation for complex process manufacturing projects.
Position Responsibilities
The Junior Mechanical Engineer has the opportunity to contribute in a number of areas:
- Process Piping Design: work with senior engineers and designers to perform calculations and analysis for specialized process and utility piping systems. Size and specify chillers, boilers, air compressors, and related equipment used in industrial manufacturing environments. Gain exposure to CAESAR II and CAEPIPE software for stress analysis. Gain exposure to industry standards and codes governing process piping design [ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5] and construction, contributing to the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Perform hydraulic calculations and flow analysis for piping systems, ensuring optimal design and functionality for various process applications.
- HVAC Design: work with senior engineers and designers to select and specify heating, cooling, and process exhaust equipment. Learn prescriptive based design methods for plumbing and fire protection. Perform calculations and gain familiarity in: duct design, psychometrics, heat load analysis, and static pressure drop. Software exposure includes Carrier HAP, Revit and AutoCAD.
- Process Mechanical Design: work with senior engineers and designers to size, specify, and integrate manufacturing systems and equipment. Develop process flow diagrams. Size and specify material handling equipment, thermal processing equipment, pressure vessels, and pumps. Utilize design software including PipeFlo, Revit, and AutoCAD.

- In general, performance of the job has the Mechanical Engineer operating from an office location vs a project location so to oversee one or more projects at one time.
- The Mechanical Engineer will be subject to jobsite conditions and therefore should be able to cope with and withstand these conditions.
- This role may require occasional overnight travel to client locations based on project requirements.
