JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for in-shop inspection of equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to the equipment fleet. The Lead Mechanic will also be responsible for performing field service diagnosis/troubleshooting/repairs on equipment and tools.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving to the job site.
- Inspecting trucks, booms, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Diagnosing faults.
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Repairing damaged equipment parts.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services.
- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like buckets, forks, etc.
- Performing major repair work when necessary.
- Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
- Technicians must furnish their own hand tools and be able to operate industry associated equipment.
- Communicates with Fleet Manager on a daily basis
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The majority of work completed on job sites or in a shop. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
- Some of the work is in an office setting, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic including course work from an accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is preferred
- Minimum of 4-years of industry experience
